Eden Hazard was on the pitch until he was replaced by Brighton and Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard midway through the second half. By the time of his exit, Belgium were leading 1-0 thanks to the first half strike from Besiktasstriker Batshuayi off the assist from Leicester City midfielder YouriTielemans. Batshuayi scored on 16 minutes and it turned out to be the only goal of the game.
Despite the win over home team Poland, Belgium stay second on the Group A4 tablewith seven points from four games and three points off the Netherlands at the top of the table after the Dutch team secured a dramaticwin at home to Wales. Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay scored the winner as a substitute in the third minute of added time to give the Netherlands the maximum points at stake.The Dutch team raced into a two-goal lead through Noa Lang and Cody Gakpo before Brennan Johnson pulled one back for Wales as the Netherlands went into the break with a 2-1 lead. Club Brugge star Lang scored the opener on 17 minutes before PSV Eindhoven attacker Gakpo added a second goal six minutes later before Nottingham Forest player Johnson halved the deficit for the Welsh team three minutes later.
